MALAGA CONGRESS CENTRE : Over 1.000 Events since its opening in 2003

In 2011 FYCMA received an overall figure of 74 events, divided up between 20 congresses, 4 conventions, 18 symposiums and 32 other events.

The Trade Fairs and Congress Center of Malaga (Fycma) has held a total of 1,040 events since it opened in 2001; these include congresses, conventions, symposiums and other events which have chosen the Malaga conference centre as an ideal place to celebrate its events.

In 2011 Fycma has in fact exceeded the number of 1,000 events; they held the grand number of 74 events during the year, between 20 congresses, 4 conventions, 18 symposiums and 32 other events, receiving 46, 387 visitors who have had an average stay of two days in the city, with the obvious economic repercussions from their stay.

It is therefore important to highlight the work of promotion and commercialization being carried out from Malaga and the Trade Fairs and Congress Center regarding the innovation and recruiting of events for the city, with particular emphasis on national and international congresses, in which there is an average participation of over 1,000 people from the professional sector.

Last year Fycma was the venue for renowned international events such as EmTech Spain, the international technology conference of the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)    or the Congress of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM). On the other hand, with regard to national events, it is important to point out the National Convention of the PP held in Fymca, with the participation of 5,000 people.

In 2012, significant events planned to be held are the 34th National Congress Semergen (26-29th September); the SECOT Congress (3-5th October); and Turitec, IX Congress of Tourism and Information Technology (25-26th October), apart from other events.
