PortAventura Business & Events: the venue chosen by Unilever and Vibo Viajes

The events were characterised by a high degree of corporate integration, fun and experiential creativity.

The multi-functional facilities of the PortAventura Convention Centre, together with the side events, making exclusive use of different parts of PortAventura as their venues, made sure that these meetings ended up being a complete success.

More than 200 sales delegates from the Anglo-Dutch multinational Unilever held their annual sales conference at PortAventura with the aim of pooling synergies to reinforce and effectively transmit the company vision and philosophy with a view to new product campaigns.

The multi-functional rooms in the PortAventura Convention Centre – Harvard, Barcino and Alexandria – were the venues chosen for the working sessions. Afterwards, with the aim of enjoying the added value offered by the park itself, the guests – accommodated at the recently-refurbished Hotel PortAventura just a stone’s throw from the Convention Centre – enjoyed an outing to the Mediterranean area and, after a pleasant trip aboard the Steam Train, moved on to the Polynesian area, where they were welcomed with the garlands typical of these islands.

A few days later, the PortAventura Convention Centre was the venue chosen for what was a very special moment for Viajes Iberia: its change of name. Thus, on 20th and 21st April 1,035 delegates and employees of what is now Vibo Viajes were able to find out at first hand the details of the new strategy for the network of agencies belonging to the Orizonia group, an especially relevant part of which was its re-branding.

Multi-functional facilities

The working sessions of this event, a traditional one for what is now Vibo Viajes, took place in the Alexandria, Harvard, Tarraco and Barcino rooms of the PortAventura Convention Centre. Guests were also able to enjoy the magnificent views from the restaurant terraces surrounding the Convention Centre, at the lunch (for 1,035 people) served on the first floor of the Centre. Afterwards, in view of the Barça-Madrid game, a large room, Alexandria, was prepared, with bar service included, so that fans of both teams could experience this exciting fixture.
