The Palacio de Congresos de Canarias – Alfredo Kraus Auditorium will host the Seventh International Congress of Experts in Forensic Documents Analysis (SIPDO 2012) from October 23 to 26, gathering experts from different countries to unify the scientific criteria in the field of forensic document analysis.

Possible applications in palaeography or the newest methods of dating documents by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry will be discussed among other subjects. The document analysis is an area of knowledge that aims to demonstrate whether a document and its contents are authentic or false, whether printed or manuscripted, as well as the identification of its author.

The congress is supported by the Atlantic Society of Criminology and Forensic Science (Saccf) and the collaboration of the Fernando Pessoa University, based in Gran Canaria under presidency of Rito Martín Díaz, who was in charge of conducting the event presentation. Among the personalities attended were the Portuguese University Chancellor, Salvato Trigo, and the university representative in the Archipelago, Antonio Rodríguez.
