29 professionals get Kursaal’s recognition for attracting congresses to Donostia-San Sebastián

8-Kursaal-SS_lowTwenty-nine professionals have got their accreditation for being part of Enbaxadore, a programme giving symbolic recognition to professionals working to attract healthcare, science, technology and university congresses to Donostia-San Sebastián.
Kursaal and Donostia-San Sebastián Turismo & Convention Bureau, the two institutions behind the programme, have given the recognition to 29 men and women who have helped to turn Donostia-San Sebastián into the host of major national and international events, thus contributing to the promotion of the city as a congress tourism destination. Candidate city sponsoring and conference planning involves a lot of work and has a huge impact on both the economy and the dissemination of knowledge. It is this kind of work Kursaal wants to reward.
The recognition to these professionals – who help stress Donostia-San Sebastián’s image as a congress hub at both the national and the international level – materialises as membership to a club gathering people with a proactive approach to conference and event planning in town. The Enbaxadore Club will organise a series of activities for members and give them a series of benefits to encourage them to attract conferences, meetings and other events to be held in Donostia-San Sebastián.
Congress tourism is the segment with the highest growth potential in the travel industry, adding value on quantitative terms and reactivating the economy. In the past four years, it generated €83 million in Donostia-San Sebastián, with 435 congresses held and 126,500 attendees.
