The Azores Assembly, an example of corporate social responsibility.

As always, the annual assembly of the Iberian chapter of the ICCA, which took place this year in the Hotel Marina Atlántica in Ponta Delgada (on the Island of San Miguel, archipelago of the Azores) from the 16th to the 19th of April, had an interesting program that included three informal presentations: “New Meetings Architecture” by Elling Hamso of the ROI Institute, “Catalysing Sustainable Change” by Pedro Norton de Matos of Gingko, and “Business Opportunities in New Emerging Markets: Brazil / Latin America and Asia” by Óscar Cerezales of MCI. Finally, the “Business Ambassador Exchange Program” served as an information exchange for international events between associates. The sessions took place in the Hotel Marina Atlántico.

As is now traditional in these events, there was also a Corporate Social Responsibility activity, which consisted of a reforestation project near Lago de las Furnas, in the middle of the only volcanic landscape of the island. When the trees grow from the positions in which they were planted, they will form the ICCA logo, which will be visible on Google Earth. The assembly enjoyed the collaboration of Azores Tourism, Bensaude Tourism and the airline SATA, among other local businesses.
