Lisbon and Seville, venues for the ICCA european workshop in 2013 and 2014

The Lisbon Conference Centre and the new Seville centre (Fibes), both members of the ICCA Iberian Chapter, have been chosen as the venues for the ICCA European Workshop for 2013 and 2014, respectively, highlighting the interest of the international conference sector in Spain and Portugal as a destination.

The ICCA European workshop for this year has just been held at the Lisbon Conference Centre on 5 and 6 September. During the two day session, 13 representatives from European conference centres that are associated with ICCA and a similar number of decision-making clients from major international conferences met in the Portuguese capital to exchange information on staging future large-scale conferences in the centres represented at the meeting.

Alexandra Torégão, from the Lisbon conference centre, host of the meeting and president of the  ICCA Iberian Chapter, gave a very positive evaluation of the Workshop, both for the level of interest shown in business interviews between suppliers and clients and for the good impression they took away with them: both of the participating venues and of the city of Lisbon and its attractions which, in the few free periods that were available to them, they were able to enjoy through a short but intense social programme.

The ICCA workshop for September 2014 will be held in the capital of Spain’s Andalucia region, after the Nuevo Palacio de Congresos de Sevilla (Fibes) won the vote. This means that for two years running members of the ICCA Iberian Chapter will have hosted this leading workshop.
