Making event tourism compatible with respect for the environment has always been part and parcel of the venue’s corporate strategy and the basis for the development of its Global Sustainability Plan. Since the building opened fifteen years ago, around 7,400,000 kWh of energy has been saved, thus avoiding the emission of approximately 5,400 tonnes of CO2. In economic terms, the income and savings generated from sustainability initiatives is estimated at €1,600,000.

The results of this Global Plan have been ratified by different assessment processes thanks to which the venue is the most certified building in Spain and one of the most highly recognised in Europe. Recently the venue has obtained the BREEAM® ES In-Use certificate, becoming the first building of its tipology holding it.
