Bogotá has been chosen in Rome as the host city of the World Congress  of Neurosurgery in 2021. This event will bring to the city 8.000 neurosurgeons and an estimated income of nearly 40 million dollars, according to the figures of the World Federation of Neurosurgery.

This successful bid has been possible after a long process of more than five years competing with cities as Bali, Cape Town, Dubai and Yokohama.

One of the key factors to win this bid has been the teamwork of the Colombian Association of Neurosurgery (ACN), the Latin American Federation of Neurosurgery (FLANC), ProColombia, the Greater Bogotá Convention Bureau, Agora Bogotá and the consultants of Barceló Congresos Latam.

The Managing Director of Barceló Congresos Latam, Mr. André Vietor, said:

“Presenting a bid requires a high commitment and a great effort by all parties involved in the process. The project planning of managing the bid and the development of a winning strategy accompanied by a detailed action plan needs to be coordinated by a group of experts.

Barceló Congresos Latam has a team of highly skilled consultants with more than 20 years experience in the field. We were the driving force and active part of more than 150 successful bid presentations and are currently involved in more than 50 future projects.

Another key factor to attract international congresses to Latin America is the teamwork of all the societies of the same field in the region. In order to be succesful during the bidding process, this work must be done by a team of experienced consultants in bidding.

I truly believe that if we keep on working this way we will have soon more successes like this one in the region”.
