New On-line tools to promote Algarve

The Algarve Tourism Association (ATA), an organisation responsible for the region foreign tourism promotion, offers three new online tools which aim to strengthen the international communication of the “business tourism” product. From now on, by using a search engine, a technical brochure and a form it will be possible, anywhere in the world, to search and find the perfect place to host events in the Algarve.

Dora Coelho, ATA Executive Director, points out that “business tourism, designated as meetings industry or MI, is one of the Algarve’s tourism products, playing a central role in mitigating seasonality, but still presenting an immense growth potential. According to data ATA collected, the Algarve has approximately 50,000 audience seats in classified tourism resorts and more than 25,000 places in independent congress centres and other meeting venues.”

The new tools, created after studying the existing event venues in the region, are also available in English at and “The investment in this new platform is part of ATA’s strategy for the MI product in 2016 and aims to strengthen the Algarve positioning in key strategic markets as a destination of excellence for incentives and other events. We will focus on the region communication, highlighting the quality/variety and the value for money of the offer in order to increase awareness both of the destination as a MI product and also of the specific service providers in this segment,” explains Dora Coelho
